The Candy is REALLY for Me!!

On Wednesday evening, we took Gavin to his first Halloween event ever. His Mother's Day Out church had a "Trunk or Treat" outside, and since it wasn't too cold, we dressed him up and headed over. He collected some candy for his Mommy, which was the most important thing, and we took lots of pics. His cousins, Reagan and Hailey, were there. As well as his BFF Kyler!

I love having all of these pics of the two of them!

We had a great time!

11 months!

Look at this sweet face....

My baby is almost a year old, and I keep thinking back to this time last year; I was hugely pregnant, feeling like I needed to have everything ready for Gavin's arrival. Im also pretty sure that I still didn't have a bag packed for the hospital. I think I did that about 3 days before I went into labor! Good timing. :)

Now I know that it doesn't matter what I thought I had prepared for Gavin's arrival. Bc I could never imagine the things I would need to make him happy, make him smile, keep him warm and snuggly, and keep him safe. And most importantly, I could never imagine how much I NEEDED HIM! Every day and every second of my life revolves around this little guy. My every decision from what to cook, whether my floors are clean enough, what errands to run, what clothes or jewelry to buy (that he wont pull at), and pretty much every other thing in my life, revolve around Gavin. And I wouldn't trade it for the world! I can't wait to have another one, but for now, Im enjoying every second I have with just Gavin and I. Im "retiring" in December, and so excited to spend more time with my babies! I know how incredibly lucky I am to be able to do this, and I won't be taking forgranted a single second of this time!

Now back to Gavin:

Stats:
Weight - 24 lbs
Dont know his height, but we'll know at his 1 year
Walking like crazy, but still crawls to get places faster
Starting to be a picky eater, but loves almost all fruit
18 oz total of formula a day, and he doesnt even finish them all
3 meals and a few snacks each day
STILL NO TEETH!
Love to wave and clap, and still mostly just says "mama" "dada" and "hi" and "nana" for banana. Im sure his Nana will be happy to hear him say that to her though too!
Goes to Mothers Day Out 3 days a week for 5 hours, otherwise he's with me!
Snuggles every night with me or Eric after his bottle
Smiles the biggest when he sees Daddy (its my favorite thing)
Sleeps from 7:30 to 7:30 almost every day

Here are a few pics that I took recently of the little man...

Loves to push his walker toy at full speed around the house

My Best Friend Taylor

Im sure you all know my very good friend Taylor Swift....well, my sisters and Lyndsie and I were all personally invited to see her in concert this past weekend when she came to town!! She asked me if I wanted to have front row seats and backstage passes, but I thought I should let the 12-year olds have that. :) J/k, I totally wish we were good friends, but maybe we're just fans of hers.

My amazing hubby surprised me and the girls with tickets to see Taylor last Saturday, and we had so much fun! We went to dinner before, then had an awesome time at the concert. Our seats were perfect, and it was one of the most fun "Sister" Nights we've ever had! :)

Gavin stayed home with Daddy and Uncle Eric to watch the OU game

You were supposed to try and pose like Taylor...we look ridiculous!

I think Amy is the only one that got it down!

Perfect Day for the Zoo

Today was the absolute perfect family day! After figuring out that Gavin's sickness was caused by an ear infection, he's now on meds and back to his old self! I love having my happy boy back! And to celebrate Eric being off work and everyone feeling good again, we spent the morning at the zoo. I feel like it was that perfect day where all the animals you wanted to see are out and playful, after the long rainy weekend stuck inside.

We saw all kinds of lions, and tigers, and bears, OH MY! (actually no bears)

The baby tiger cubs were born in July, and they were out playing and jumping all over their Mommy today. It was so cute to watch, and absolutely made my day!

Of course we had to go visit the elephants again, and Gavin loved them as always

Then we took, not ONE, but TWO rides on the carousel! Although the picture below paints a different picture, Gavin LOVES the carousel!! He holds on and smiles and talks the whole time.

We had the perfect day at the zoo, and can't wait to go back!

October Birthday Parties!

Last weekend, we celebrated Miss Hailey's (aka the Princess) birthday party at the park! She turned 4 going on 18! This girl blows me away every day with how smart she is! I just love her so much! The weather was pretty perfect, and I think she had a great time!

Sick babies... :(

I absolutely hate it when my munchkin is sick...how pathetic is this picture?

These last few days have been a roller coaster dealing with a grumpy baby boy. He has been running fever, whining, crying, not eating, not sleeping, and just generally unhappy. I feel so bad for him. :( Im hoping that he's finally getting some teeth, seeing as how he's almost 11 months old with NO TEETH! If this is what teething is like, then maybe he can get a few at a time so he doesn't have to go through this very often.

So what do we do when Gavin is sick? Well....pretty much we do a lot of snuggling, and halfway playing with toys.

We take a lot of baths because his fever spikes, then goes back down and he's drenched! Good thing he loves baths!

Im hoping the outcome of these last few days is a tooth, and I will post a big pic of it as soon as it shows the pearly whiteness!!! In the meantime, feel better Gavvy.
