Fun Christmassy Things!

We've done so many fun Christmassy things this December, and all of us have enjoyed it so much! We started with decorating the tree together as a family. Crew only wanted to throw the ornaments off the tree, so he was quickly banned from tree decorating. But Gavin was a great help! He took it very seriously and wanted to make sure we got all the ornaments on the tree in the right spot! It was precious

 We also did an Advent Calendar this year. The boys might be a little young for this, but we had some fun things on the agenda and some crafty things as well. We got the boys their own Christmas tree upstairs that they could decorate and pick out their own ornaments. They had fun with that. One of the advent calendars days was spent shopping for toys and clothes for a little boy and his family who don't get presents all the time. This one really stuck with Gavin. He kept talking about this boy, and even got to pick out the toy for him, and helped me wrap it. I think it really stuck with him bc he wanted the toy for himself so bad, but I was happy that he kept graciously understanding, at age 3, that this toy was for someone less fortunate.

We got some Starbucks hot chocolate one day on the way to school, and even went to Chickasha again with the Bakers to look at lights. It was so freezing that night, so we spent very little time outside before we retreated to the car to drive through the lights with some heat.

The boys had a great visit with Santa this year. Neither of them were scared or cried when we put them on his lap. It was so sweet! 

And we did lots of Christmas movie nights. The boys loved Polar Express, and barely moved or made a peep through the entire thing! They also really loved the "Elf on the Shelf" movie, Shrek the Halls, and the Grinch.

It's the most Wonderful time of the year! 

This is One for the Record Books

We were so excited to once again host our annual Christmas party! Who cares that the temps outside were 6 degrees with some ice and snow on the ground. We took a vote, and the majority still wanted us to party! So party we did! Some of us took to the garage for some rowdy rounds of beer pong and boat races, (keepin it classy)! We played Dirty Santa, and the majority of our friends stayed until the wee hours of the morning! I would call that a successful Christmas party! Thanks to everyone who came and made it so special. :) 

This Old Tree

She's got style, she's got beauty....she is irreplaceable Im telling you!

I inherited this tree from my Mom when she moved from her old house. She said she didn't want such a big tree anymore, and not to mention, this one is a doozie to put up! Literally takes me hours to shape each branch and put them on one-by-one. I also string the lights as I go because the branches scrape my hands so bad I have to wear gloves. I don't want to be sticking my hands through the limbs a second time. Quite the event...

But when she's up...

She's a beauty!

9 Years of Xmas Parties with the Fischers

Okay so technically last year we didn't get to have our Annual Christmas party, since we didn't have a house. But my good friend Steph took it over for us and had it last year so we could keep the tradition alive.

This year we had our biggest and best party in our new house and I think it was one for the books!

First of all, I found this sign while I was waiting to checkout at Gordman's. I think it was fate because: #1 - Im never in Gordmans, and #2 - it was the perfect slogan for our xmas parties!

Everyone had a blast! We played Dirty Santa and everyone ended up with awesome gifts, we danced and even ended up playing beer pong and boat races in the garage with about 20 of us. Nevermind that the temps outside were in the single digits! 

Okay so the pics below tell one of the funniest stories of the night. My best friend Lyndsie and her husband Scott couldn't make the party. The weather outside was...FRIGHTFUL...to say the least! So Susy and Amy decided to write a not saying we miss her, and take a pic and send it to her. The only problem is that all the alcohol we had consumed impaired our judgement of how to read left to right! Susy and Amy were SURE that this was the correct way to stand with our signs. While Cindy and I just kept trying to get through to them that we were backwards. Finally we gave up and just took the pic like they wanted! 

Then Cindy and I made the real magic happen! 

Overall it was a fabulous night with our best friends!
