Family Christmas

We had Lockwood family Christmas at Mom's house this year. Everyone got together and had a great time! Hailey passed out presents, Gavin slept with his great Aunt Sharon and GG, and Reagan was just cute! Oh, and all the rest of us were there too!

I love get-togethers with the family!

Baby Burrito

Ok so I know I mentioned in my last blog that Gavin sometimes likes to be up and awake in the middle of the night. But for the past week, he has been a SUPER SLEEPER!

He loves to sleep in his swing. Naptime is a piece of cake in the morning and afternoon because he sleeps for at least 3 hours in his swing.

We just recently decided that we were going to start swaddling Gavin at night. He flails his arms about during his sleep, (see above picture) and we thought if he wasn't waking himself up, he would probably stay asleep longer! Well...WE WERE RIGHT! The first night we tried the swaddle blanket, he slept 5 straight hours. Since then, we've had no less than 6 straight hours of sleep from our little man! Some nights we even get 7! I can't complain when Ive been used to 3 or less for his first month!
My lil baby burrito!

This is my life!

I found this today....pretty much sums up my life!

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I have issues with telling time. I consider myself a very smart person, but when it comes to clocks and watches, I prefer the digital kind. Sadly, the digital kind aren't the pretty kind! Oh and my beautiful new watch from Eric, which he got for me as a "Push Present" is definitely not the digital kind. So I resort to staring at the face of the watch for way too long than a normal person should, when asked what time it is!

Not only does this clock describe me for the above reason, but it also represents how time is everything and nothing to me anymore. It's everything to me b/c I plan my life out in 3-hour spurts. That's about how long Gavin goes in between meals. And time is everything to me b/c Im running out of precious time at home with my lil bear. But at the same time, time is NOTHING to me b/c I dont care if its 7 pm or 11 pm, when Gavin goes to sleep at night, so do I. And if he decides that 3 am is the time that he would like to hang out and smile so big and play and coo and talk to me, then that's when we will play.

Who needs to tell time????

Cranky Baby Workout

I've come up with the perfect money-making idea. Not only will it help me to be able to quit my job, but I'm pretty sure that I will catapult our family into stardom.

"Cranky Baby Workout Videos"

It's GENIUS!! Moms will no longer have to wait the required 6 weeks to start trying to drop that baby weight!! All you need is a very cranky baby, or at least a needy one that wants to be held constantly, and a TV with VCR. Yes...VCR...I'm only gonna release my video on a VCR just to make it more exclusive. You know how Apple wants you to do it their way, so you end up buying and downloading all of their products. well, same goes here! For some reason if it's more of a pain to get, we all jump through hoops to have it.

Anyway, back to the video. It will consist of some fun but somewhat soothing dance music for you to pace your living room with. I'm thinking some "Micharl Buble", maybe a little "airplanes" for the hip-hop track...mix it up a little. You hold your baby in whatever position they scream the LEAST in, and follow my moves:

"The Baby Worm" - this adds a little arm toning while swaying back and forth. Just lift ur left arm, then as you lower the left, raise the right so baby looks like they're doing the worm!

"Love Handle Loser" - this involves some serious rotating side to side to really feel it! Not to mention your baby will probably really like it!

I don't wanna give away all my secret moves, but I have to say theyve helped me get all the way back to pre-baby weight in just about a month. You only have to commit to about 3 hours a day/night, and the best part? You have a NO-FAIL partner to make sure you don't try to skip out on your workout...Try telling your baby you don't feel like working out (soothing them) that day. I think you'll change your mind REAL quick when they start in with the guilt trip (aka screaming).

All I'm looking for is a few friends who are willing to spandex it up in the background as my backup dancers. Oh, and Ill need the token "modified workout person." You know, the one who uses a chair to balance? So you guys just let me know...gotta get back to my workout!!

Happy 1 Month Baby Boy!

Today, my sweet boy, you are already one month old! One month of turning our lives absolutely upside down! And I mean FOR THE BETTER! You amaze me every day that after all the time spent yearning for a baby, you are here, and perfect, and are a true miracle from God. I don't know if I have ever loved anyone more...sorry Eric! :)

A few things about you:

- You didn't start out so good, but lately you have been quite the sleeper! You sleep about 3 hours at a time, and wake up only to eat at night.

- You laugh in your sleep and smile so big although you don't know you're doing it! Those long hours spent with you at night are so worth it when you finally shut your eyes again, only to smile so big at me!

- You don't mind baths, but you don't love them either. Your favorite thing is when you are finished and Daddy wraps you up in a towel and then sings to you to calm you down.

- You are absolutely entranced by the Christmas tree and the window treatments! You could stare at them for hours.

- Car rides calm you down about 90% of the time, but you DO NOT like to be idle. Stop lights pose a problem for you!

- Singing is the fastest way to calm you down. Sadly, Im not a singer, so you get my horrible voice in place of a soothing song!

- You have 2 girlfriends already, and you haven't made the decision yet on who you would like to marry!

Gavin and Addy

Gavin and Kyler

Your best friend and almost birthday buddy is Liam

You are so strong and determined to hold your head up whenever possible

This is Eric and I's favorite face you make! Sadly, you make it when you are working on a surprise for us in your diaper!

You love to sleep ON people. If someone will hold you, I think you would sleep for 12 hours straight

If you are FORCED to sleep on something else, you LOVE your monkey!

We love you so much and can't wait to spend your first Christmas with you!

First Thanksgiving

Gavin had his very first Thanksgiving at home this year. We made dinner with the Blackburns and Dad. Gavin got to watch the parade, and football, and eat tons of Thanksgiving food...well...sort of!
