Baby Madness Round 2

Soooo....Baby #2 is on the way and Eric and I couldn't be more thrilled!! We were definitely surprised when the good news came so quick, but we've been very sure that we would just let it happen when it happened! I think we were in a little bit of shock when we found out this time though! I knew I was late, but wasn't really thinking that I could be pregnant. So I took one test on Wednesday and when I didn't immediately get a positive, I just threw it away. Then Friday, I decided to take it again. Mind you, these are $1.00 tests, so I should probably follow the crappy instructions and see if it works this time. I waited the 3 minutes, and it turns out this super expensive (NOT) test really needs that long to spit out a result! Lo and behold I got a positive! Well, actually I got a really faint line, which I sometimes wondered if I was imagining it being there! When Eric got home from the gym, I showed him and he said "Well why are you taking these cheap crappy tests? Go get a good one!" So I left and went to the store at 6am. I came back with the digital ones, while Eric waited on me.

Here's the best part: When I tried to take the digital test, I hadn't drank anything else, so I didnt even have to pee! Instead of a positive I got "ERROR!" Haha! Eric was so mad that he waited on me and then I didn't even get an answer! So I had to drink a huge glass of water, then try again in about 20 minutes. This time I got "Pregnant" and immediately text the pic to Eric!

Im not sure it's really sunk in that I will have two little babies, a 16 month old and a newborn. Im not sure what Im getting myself into with this madness, but I do know that it's a huge blessing and a miracle that we are this lucky in our lives to have 2 babies! So many people struggle for years and go through such heartbreak trying to have kids of their own, and I know a little bit about what it's like. After over 2 years and one angel baby, Gavin is our miracle! Now we get to have another and complete our family!

Here's Gavin in his Big Bro shirt! I didn't realize how impossible it would be to find a "Big Brother" shirt in size 9 months....until I realized that most Big Brothers aren't babies themselves! Haha! So I had to buy this 2t t-shirt and the irony of it all was very apparent! I ended up just telling Amy and Cindy, without the shirt, bc I needed to tell someone. Then Cindy and I went shopping for the shirt and went up to my Mom's work. We didn't tell her why we were coming, we just showed up. She grabbed Gavin, and was just talking to him, trying to figure out why his shirt was so big. All of a sudden she looked down and was like "Oh my gosh are you pregnant!!!?" It was hilarious! Even better was when we tried to FaceTime with Eric's parents that evening and Gav had on his shirt. They read the shirt out loud and said "Oh what a cute shirt!" Then went on with the conversation. We had to make them read it again to figure it out! We text the pic to my Dad, and he caught on pretty quick and called to congratulate us! We didn't get to tell Ray and Jess until they got back from their trip to Turkey about a week later.

That same day, I went to the dr to do bloodwork and confirmed everything was looking good! They set up my first OB appt for 3 weeks later. Eric, Gavin and I all went to the appointment, and we immediately got to see the first picture of our little baby #2!

Dr K said everything is great, and my due date is March 2nd. Sadly, I"ll have to have another c-section this time so they will schedule the induction date about a week in advance of my due date so I hopefully don't go into labor on my own. So a February baby it is!!

One of the crazy things about my last pregnancy was that 2 of my best friends were pregnant and due at almost the exact same time. This time, several more of my good friends are pregnant and due within about 2 weeks of each other! Very exciting for all of them too!

To say that I have been feeling "under the weather" would be an understatement! Eric thinks my tiredness and sickness is already worse than last time. Im not sure if it's worse, or if it's that there is so much more to do this time around. I can't lay around on the couch all day when I have a baby to take care of! And by the time Eric gets home every day, all I want is for him to wait on me, and keep Gavin happy....SMALL THING TO ASK RIGHT? Haha! He's definitely wearing himself out trying to be Super Husband/Dad, and Im hoping that this phase will wear off soon. I try to describe how I feel to someone else as "the worst possible hangover you could ever have." Say you drank redbull/vodka the night before, and all day people keep saying "vodka" in your presence. And everytime they do, you feel yourself starting to puke, and have to work it back down. Well folks, that's my life in a nutshell! Ive even had a stern talk with Baby Fischer 2 about making Mommy sick, but I dont think his/her ears are fully developed enough to hear me!

I haven't taken any belly pics yet...frankly I just dont have the energy, but I can guarantee this belly will show up A LOT sooner than the first! All of your thoughts and prayers are needed for a safe and healthy pregnancy! I'll keep you posted!

A letter to my Husband...

5 years ago today, we were waking up on one of the most important and exciting days of our lives! I couldn't see you until that evening, but all I could think about was the fact that we would be Mr and Mrs Fischer by 8 o'clock that night! Ive never been more sure about a decision in my life, and I couldn't wait to start our lives together! I knew WAAAAAAY back when we first met, when you walked into my work and asked me "How do you think you did on that test?" And for the life of me I didn't know which class you were talking about. I was always in my own little world in school, never looked around to make friends or anything. So once you told me which class it was, I looked for you the next time and then couldn't take my eyes off you again! From that point on, I think we both knew we were meant for each other!

I look back on everything we've experienced; visiting you in New York, us moving there together, moving home again, and now having our perfect little family, and I know my life is supposed to be this way! You are an amazing provider, an awesome daddy, and a great husband. If there is one thing I know, it's that we can get through anything together!

Our very first date!

Moving into our new home
I love you!

And Gavin loves you too!
Happy 5 year Anniversary! Here's too 100 more!

8 Months!!

This little busy boy is 8 months old this week and growing by the minute! Im always amazed when another month flies by and we get closer to 1 year of you being with us! So many things are happening in our lives right now, and you take them all in stride. You are so easy going, and never complain no matter what shenanigans we decide to take on! Shopping, jogging, eating out, long car rides, drs appts, WHATEVER! And you have that sweet smile on your face the whole time!

Here are some notable changes:

- You are pulling up on all your toys! Every time I walk away and come back, you've found something to pull yourself up with. Lexi doesn't necessarily like to be used for this, but you try anyway!
- I can't get you to stay asleep any later than 6:15 am. I really should complain bc you sleep about 11 hours, but im just hoping for a 7:30 wake up one day soon!
- You love puffs, goldfish, cheerios, and anything else that you can get your hands on! We have no issues with food
- You say Mama and Dada and Babababa all the time.
- You have started laughing so much at random things we say or do. You love for me to silly dance in front of you!
- You LOVE your Mommy and Daddy. You've definitely started showing preference to us over anyone else.
- No crawling for you yet. You still love to roll, and you can get to whatever you want by a combination of scooting and rolling. It's a whole lot more work than just crawling, but you're fine with this method of travel for now.

Here's how we found you after we left you for a few minutes to eat dinner!

Bathtime is your favorite! Love this crazy hair
FOOOOOOD

Sweet Boy
Your Nana and Papa made a trip back to see you this week and I think you remember them! The smiles started not long after they walked in the door! I think you missed them!

One of my favorite things to watch you do (and Erics) is when you are riding in the car and you stare out the window like a big boy. We always wonder what you are thinking, and think you are growing up too fast! We love you little man!

Happy 5 Year Trip!

This past weekend we wanted to celebrate a big anniversary for Eric and I, with a trip as a family. This was Gavin's first real vacation, and although we just went to Dallas, we were very excited to all be together and spend the whole weekend doing fun stuff! This July 14th, Eric and I have been married for 5 years, and I really cannot believe it's already been that long!

Friday afternoon we headed down I-35 towards Texas. We left during Gavin's naptime, and got a good few hour nap out of him during our drive! Sweet little angel when he sleeps...

He was very happy to be out of the car when we arrived at the Crescent Hotel in downtown Dallas. The Hotel is beautiful, and we actually stayed there last year for our 4 year anniversary!

After we got settled in, we headed downstiars to eat dinner at Nobu. We were a little nervous about taking Gavin to such a nice restaurant, but he was SO WELL BEHAVED. He smiled and flirted with everyone, and ate his food like a big boy! Eric and I had some awesome King Crab Tempura, some really great sushi, and calamari!

We took this same picture last year in the exact same spot! The next morning, we ordered breakfast to be delivered so we would be ready to tackle our busy day!
We started out at the Fort Worth Zoo, getting there right when it opened. We were trying to beat the heat, but there's just no way to do that when its 95 degrees at 9:30 am!! Seriously!!?? Not to mention, Gavin's tummy has not been doing so good these last few days and I feel like all I have been doing is dealing with major blowouts and changing outfits! Poor guy

We speed-walked through the zoo and saw all the animals we wanted to see, then got out of there as fast we could! The heat was beating down so bad already!

Checking out the bears

After the zoo, we decided to go see what all the hype is about with "In-N-Out Burger." We've never eaten there before and Eric kept saying "What could be so good about a burger?" When we exited the highway, we saw all kinds of orange cones directing traffic and i was like "Surely this is not directing traffic to this place!" Well it was! I can't believe our police men and women have to spend their day directing traffic to a burger joint! LOL, what a waste!
Once we got to our spot in line, we were stopped for awhile, so I took the time to keep Gavin happy by changing his diaper (AGAIN) and his clothes! For those keeping count, we're on outfit 2 for the day. (NO THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING WITHOUT MY KID STRAPPED IN!)

They put you in 4 long lines, then walk up and take the orders for that whole line, then send you on through. What a system!
At last....we got our food! We ordered double double burgers, one Animal style and one regular, and 2 animal style fries, and a chocolate shake! As soon as we took our first bite, we were hooked! Eric immediately retracted his previous comment, and we proceeded to give our best effort to finish all our food. So good!!
Next, we headed to the Galleria for some shopping! We didn't stay real long though bc once again, Gav's tummy...notice outfit #3! By this time Im telling Eric that there's no way we can stay out all day bc Im gonna run out of clothes and diapers! So we found some baby stores and bought a few extra onesies.
We headed over to Highland Park Village to visit my good friend Tory Burch! I have to keep in touch ya know! :)
After my damage at TB, we didn't wanna head back just yet, so instead we went to the Dallas Aquarium to check out some marine life! This aquarium is huge and so awesome! There are birds flying around everywhere, fish, snakes, bugs (yuck) and all kinds of cool sharks and other water animals!

They were snuggling

After the aquarium, we grabbed a quick dinner, then headed back to the hotel to have a relaxing evening. We were so worn out and Gavin had a great day! This face pretty much sums up the trip! He was so perfect the entire time, never gripey, never whiney, and had the biggest smile planted on his face the whole trip!

Hot as a Firecracker!

How many days can Oklahoma have 100+ degree temps? Well, let me tell you we're not done yet! Since mid June, the temps have been almost unbearable. The ONLY thing you can do outside after 9 am is be in some kind of water! So for 4th of July weekend, we headed down to the lake to take in some boat time, swimming, and fireworks! I love long weekends at the lake, because it makes the packing, the driving, the unpacking, and more driving so much more worth it! I swear we pack up our entire house and specifically Gavin's entire room just to get down to the lake. Then somehow I still feel like I forgot something.

We got down to the lake Friday late afternoon, and made a big dinner, then got ready for our first big day on the water. Saturday morning we got up and headed out to Butterfly Cove, which is a great area that's not crowded, and has smaller beaches with deep water to float in. We tied up with our favorite lake buddies, the Campbells, and spent the day swimming and playing horseshoes, putting babies in the water, taking them out, feeding/changing/trying to get them to nap, and then giving up and letting them swim again! The only sure way to get them to nap is to get the boat going at a good speed. Once we hit the water, they all pass out within about 30 seconds! Its the funniest thing we've ever seen bc its the ONLY time that any parents get to relax on the lake! Saturday night we headed over to Hal's to watch fireworks. Gavin slept through the entire thing bc he was so tired! Sunday we went out again to the same cove and had another full day on the water. By Sunday night we were all so worn out, we passed out not long after the babies! We had such a great weekend and somehow survived the heat! Happy 4th of July everyone!
