This past weekend we wanted to celebrate a big anniversary for Eric and I, with a trip as a family. This was Gavin's first real vacation, and although we just went to Dallas, we were very excited to all be together and spend the whole weekend doing fun stuff! This July 14th, Eric and I have been married for 5 years, and I really cannot believe it's already been that long!
Friday afternoon we headed down I-35 towards Texas. We left during Gavin's naptime, and got a good few hour nap out of him during our drive! Sweet little angel when he sleeps...

He was very happy to be out of the car when we arrived at the Crescent Hotel in downtown Dallas. The Hotel is beautiful, and we actually stayed there last year for our 4 year anniversary!

After we got settled in, we headed downstiars to eat dinner at Nobu. We were a little nervous about taking Gavin to such a nice restaurant, but he was SO WELL BEHAVED. He smiled and flirted with everyone, and ate his food like a big boy! Eric and I had some awesome King Crab Tempura, some really great sushi, and calamari!

We took this same picture last year in the exact same spot!

The next morning, we ordered breakfast to be delivered so we would be ready to tackle our busy day!

We started out at the Fort Worth Zoo, getting there right when it opened. We were trying to beat the heat, but there's just no way to do that when its 95 degrees at 9:30 am!! Seriously!!?? Not to mention, Gavin's tummy has not been doing so good these last few days and I feel like all I have been doing is dealing with major blowouts and changing outfits! Poor guy
We speed-walked through the zoo and saw all the animals we wanted to see, then got out of there as fast we could! The heat was beating down so bad already!

Checking out the bears

After the zoo, we decided to go see what all the hype is about with "In-N-Out Burger." We've never eaten there before and Eric kept saying "What could be so good about a burger?" When we exited the highway, we saw all kinds of orange cones directing traffic and i was like "Surely this is not directing traffic to this place!" Well it was! I can't believe our police men and women have to spend their day directing traffic to a burger joint! LOL, what a waste!

Once we got to our spot in line, we were stopped for awhile, so I took the time to keep Gavin happy by changing his diaper (AGAIN) and his clothes! For those keeping count, we're on outfit 2 for the day. (NO THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING WITHOUT MY KID STRAPPED IN!)

They put you in 4 long lines, then walk up and take the orders for that whole line, then send you on through. What a system!

At last....we got our food! We ordered double double burgers, one Animal style and one regular, and 2 animal style fries, and a chocolate shake! As soon as we took our first bite, we were hooked! Eric immediately retracted his previous comment, and we proceeded to give our best effort to finish all our food. So good!!

Next, we headed to the Galleria for some shopping! We didn't stay real long though bc once again, Gav's tummy...notice outfit #3! By this time Im telling Eric that there's no way we can stay out all day bc Im gonna run out of clothes and diapers! So we found some baby stores and bought a few extra onesies.

We headed over to Highland Park Village to visit my good friend Tory Burch! I have to keep in touch ya know! :)

After my damage at TB, we didn't wanna head back just yet, so instead we went to the Dallas Aquarium to check out some marine life! This aquarium is huge and so awesome! There are birds flying around everywhere, fish, snakes, bugs (yuck) and all kinds of cool sharks and other water animals!

They were snuggling

After the aquarium, we grabbed a quick dinner, then headed back to the hotel to have a relaxing evening. We were so worn out and Gavin had a great day! This face pretty much sums up the trip! He was so perfect the entire time, never gripey, never whiney, and had the biggest smile planted on his face the whole trip!
