This is the day the Lord has Made

What an amazing day! Today Gavin was baptized in our church, St Mark's Catholic Church in Norman. Ive been looking forward to this for a long time. I feel like I spent so much time in church praying for our little miracle, and now to bring him to church and commit him as a Christian, it's just a great feeling!

But don't let me sugar coat this day too much. I mean, as much as I was excited for him to be baptized, Ive been STRESSING about how this day would go for weeks. I was worried b/c every morning around 9 am, Gavin gets pretty cranky. Cranky is probably an understatement, b/c he really needs his morning nap to make it through the day. So I planned it out with Eric that we would leave our house about an hour before we needed to be at the church, and spend that entire time driving around so that Gavin would get a nap in. (he loves the car) Well, we did just that, got to the church around 8:30 am, and church started at 9:00. By about 9:20, Gavin was over being quiet and being held in church. I tried several things to get him to be quiet since we were up in front, and finally gave in to let him have a bottle. As soon as I put it in his mouth, the Priest and Deacon walked over to talk to us in front of everyone. So I immediately pulled the bottle from his mouth, and he proceeded to SCREAM the entire time they talked to us! It was so embarrassing and couldn't have been worse timing, but kids are just so ornery like that I guess.

Gavin's godparents are Ray and Jess, as well as my Dad. I couldn't be happier that they were all up front with us and took part in this special day. Gavin is the luckiest baby ever!

When we got to the back of the church, and the actual baptism took place, he was fine, and we made it through the remainder of church! After church we went to Charleston's for lunch with everyone, and of course, Gavin slept like an angel the whole time. :) All in all, great day and so thankful for everyone that came to celebrate with us.

Baby Faces

I swear these babies are TOO CUTE!

Megan brought Kyler over one afternoon while we were hanging out with Eric's family last weekend. It's always so funny to watch them when they're together!

Probably the cutest pic ever!

Having such a serious conversation!

3 month pics by Amy

We are so lucky to have such a great photographer in the family, who just happens to love her nephew! Here are the pics Aunt Amy took of Gavin last week on his 3 month bday!

It all started with a cookie...

It's the little things that mean the most...

About 7 years ago, around Valentine's Day, I gave Eric a heart cookie. It was actually just as a joke b/c we weren't dating at the time. We were just friends, but Eric came into the tanning salon where I worked and would always hang around and talk to me and Tina (my boss and great friend). Tina and I ordered sandwiches from this amazing place called "Someplace Else" and since it was close to Valentine's Day, we also ordered these awesome icing cookies shaped like hearts. I think Tina purposely ordered an extra cookie...well, Eric came in and we had that extra, so I gave it to him. About a month later when we got together, I found out that THAT cookie was such a big deal to him b/c it was like a present to him from me! To this day, he talks about that cookie, and how that's when "he knew i must've really liked him!" So every year on Valentine's Day, we get heart shaped cookies in honor of that memory.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Shoesies!

Okay, so I know you totally don't care right now Gavin, but I just bought you these majorly cute shoes! I never thought I would get so excited about boy's shoes, but here I am! I have to give credit to Megan, b/c she actually found them first! Can't wait to put you in them, naked...and just stare at you b/c i have no clue what clothes you have that will go with this!

3 Months!...and Rolling

My LITTE MAN! You are growing up so fast!

Today Gavin is 3 months old. He has officially been in this world for 1/4 of a year. I can't believe this! Over these past 3 months, he has changed so much and is developing more each and every day. We love to watch him grow and learn, and Eric and I are constantly looking forward to what he will surprise us with each day!

Aunt Amy came over today with the girls to take some pictures of this sweet boy. He was so cooperative and suffered through all the outfit changes like a champ! Aunt Sissy was on hand to handle Amy's girls as well. It was definitely a team effort. I'll post more once she sends them to me!

New Things you do!
ROLLING: Yesterday February 9th, you rolled over for the first time! I put you on the floor for your normal tummy time, and OVER YOU WENT! So then I immediately put you back on your tummy so I could get a video of it, and before I could even unlock my phone, you did it AGAIN! Since then I have not been able to catch it on video. You do it once or twice but not once the tape is rolling....Video to come soon.
Sleep: We've almost completely cut out the nighttime feeding. You eat around 7 or so, and not again until about 4:30. Go Gav! And you've been sleeping in your room for a couple weeks now with no problems! I am so proud of you!
You say "mama" in your whiney voice. When you start to get tired, you mumble "Mama" several times, which makes Eric and I laugh b/c you dont mean to say it!
This week we had another snow storm hit Okc. This is very out of the ordinary for us, but this one was way less worse than was predicted. Eric had to stay in a hotel near work b/c he couldn't risk having any trouble getting in. So Gavin and I decided this was a chance for some quality Grandma time. She hasn't got to see him as much as she would like, and this was the second week in a row that her Wednesday time with Gav was interrupted by snow. So we packed up the house (not kidding) and headed to Grandma's. Cindy came too, so we had fun altogether. The only people were missing were the Blackburns, and obviously Eric. Gavin tried to the exersaucer for the first time, and actually did really great. We had to put a blanket around him to keep him propped up, but other than that he was a champ!
Thanks Grandma for putting us up!!

Love these feetsies

Snow...We Meet Again

The weathermen predicted another big snow storm for this year, and we definitely weren't let down. Monday night, a huge snow storm moved through, and dumped about a foot of snow over our whole state. But the winds blew it around so much that it looked like a whole lot more! Thankfully I got to stay home with Gavin on Tuesday and Wednesday during the worst of it. And Eric was home with us on Tuesday.

So what do you do when you're snowed in you ask???

You make SNOW ICE CREAM! It was very good

Gavin wanted some SNOW FORMULA

We did a lot of this...

And we made sure to stay clean

We also worked on Gavin's fitness..(cue Fergie..."workin on my fitness")

He's actually a very big fan of "tummy time" and is giving it his best effort to roll over. I give it a few more weeks before we have any success

Love this cute tooshie. :)

We played and played and played with toys while we were at home

And we snuggled A LOT!

I'll get snowed in with you anytime my little love!
