Give it up to our Troops

I would never want to dismiss or overlook the real meaning of today. I feel like it's so important to remember all the people who are giving up their lives everyday for all of us. I have such respect for all the people I know who have served in the military, especially my Father-In-Law. But I also thank God every day that he retired after over 20 years of serving, because he made it possible for Eric and I to meet and fall in love! (Cheesy I know, but I seriously think about that all the time)

Today, Eric and I watched a movie called "Taking Chance," and it was so good. If you haven't seen it, it's definitely one that will make you think. There is so much tradition and respect within the military community that I have never seen or experienced, and I think it's pretty amazing. There's not a lot of action to this movie, but its about a marine who escorts a fallen soldier home. We really liked it, although it made me a little emotional.

A Great Weekend

This weekend we started off lake season with a BANG! I can't remember the last Memorial Weekend where we had great weather, the lakes weren't flooding, or the wind wasn't blowing umbrellas down the beach and white-capping the lake. No matter what anyone was doing this weekend, I hope you were outside!

It was SOOOOO sunny, we needed a little break from the sun!
Hailey was such a fish! And Uncle Eric loved swimming with her

Exciting News!

I got a call yesterday from my dr, saying that they needed to change my Ultrasound appt that was supposed to be on the 16th. At first I was bummed b/c I was sure they were gonna move me back a week or so. But then she actually changed it to the 9th! So now we get to find out what we're having a whole week earlier! I hope we can actually see something!

Cross your fingers, but baby don't cross your legs! LOL!

Home Improvement Projects

Ahhhh.....Home Improvement. I love you and I hate you...

This past weekend, we had decorative curbing insatlled in our front gardens. We're so happy with it, and it looks great! But of course we couldn't stop there, NO, we then had to change out all the mulch so that it complemented the curbing and the brick color better. So we loaded down Eric's truck with ridiculous amounts of mulch and top soil. Well, really, there is no WE, I did it all! Eric and Ray were absolutely no help in lifting these 40 pound bags! (Yea right! I sat on the ground and drank lemonade and told them what they were doing wrong!)

My little helper for the day!

Here's the finished product, black mulch in all beds, and curbing complete!

Our lawn is actually much greener just in the past few days, so don't judge

Notice my new plant in the pot...I dont wanna talk about it

If you're keeping score, Planters - 3, Me - -$200

Last night, Erics Dad came over and we grilled some yummy deliciousness! Normal people make chicken and veggies, or steak and potatoes, or something like that. But when Ray is eating, we have to EXPERIMENT! So we made stuffed Jalepenos (deeeee-licious!), homeade potato chips, and of course some bbq chicken.

All our hard work on the grill!
The homeade potatoes are a work in progess, but they were still good. And we always love to grill outside. Im loving this weather b/c right now, we could do that every night!

14 weeks and counting...

Dr Appt Monday Afternoon 5/17/10
Heartrate: 161
Weight Gain: 3 lbs

We got to hear sweet Baby Fischer's heartbeat today, and were so excited! Everything is still going great, if the last little bit of nausea would leave me alone soon!

We found out that the big day is June 16th!!! Boy or Girl?!?

14 weeks
Likes/Dislikes: Im always down for some Mexican food, and I love Root Beer. Still not really liking to look at anything raw. Oh and if you have a story that includes anything disgusting with food, or anything like boogers or throwing up, I dont have the stomach for it...NOT JOKING! It's like a diet pill to me...if I hear anything along those lines, I am immediately not hungry and major nauseous! Ewwww...

Lots of fun things coming up for us in this pregnancy, I can't wait to feel the little girl or guy. And Im on the verge of having a little bump, but mostly I just look a little thick. :)

Baby Fischer is already so loved!

I came home last night to a package on the counter. Eric asked me what I ordered, and I said "I haven't ordered anything!" Of course he didn't believe me. Then I looked at the box and saw that it was from Gymboree! Althought I am DYING to buy something for our baby, I have really tried to hold off. So then I knew for sure it wasn't me! I opened the box, and inside was this cute lil present, wrapped so pretty!

From Baby Fischer's Nanna and Poppa

I love it all so much and can't wait to put a baby in those clothes and those little socks! Im kinda glad we're having a baby in the winter, b/c then I can snuggle him/her all day long!

Summer is Coming!

This past Thursday, I got to do some swimming with my fave 2 year old, Hailey! She was an awesome lil swimmer! And she is always up for cheesing it up with Aunt Kimmy!

Friday I tagged along with Kristi and Amy to the zoo. It was a windy day, but once you got into the zoo, all the surroundings made for perfect weather! All the kids were a huge handful but so much fun!

We were quite a sight to see with these two!

Such prepared Moms

Reagan was so happy to be at the zoo! She stayed awake the whole time

Jett, however, couldn't have cared less!

I took Hailey for a ride on the carousel or whatever that is!

Holding hands

Today was MADNESS! I raced home from work because there was a threat of tornadoes. Right after I got home, but before Eric could make it here, we started getting ridiculous hail! It started out as golf ball sized, then went all the way up to bigger than baseball! It was crazy!

Eric's truck got hit with a huge baseball of hail, and almost went all the way through! He pulled over, but couldn't get out of the storms fast enough with all the traffic. His truck has some serious damage.

We're so lucky to be safe and sound, as Im hearing about people who died today through all these storms. Trucks and our roof are replaceable, so Im glad that we're all okay! Sadly, this is probably the first of many storms we will encounter throughout tornado season. But maybe it's the worst!

Who's That Lady?

That's what Eric has been saying about me these past few nights! I FINALLY have started to get some pep back in my step! I hope this is a sign of things to come. At 7 weeks, I was greeted with a major case of nausea, and it has faithfully stayed by my side through 12 weeks. It's been a little rough, but if that's what this baby needed to do to stay healthy, I can deal. I should probably give a huge THANK YOU to Eric who took on pretty much every household responsibility for these past several weeks! He's a keeper!

Monday night, my first night to feel FANTASTIC, I was dancing all over the house with my iPod and even went for a run/walk around the neighborhood. I think Eric was in shock that his "Old Kimmy" was back! We made dinner, well, I made pasta salad, and Eric cooked chicken. I still get pretty squeamish around raw meat. Yuck!

Random side note: When I googled "raw chicken" this picture came up and I had to post bc Im not even sure what to think about it!

I LOVE Ginger Ale, and that's about all I would like to drink. That and tea. :)
I HATE peppermint! The smell, the taste, ewwwww. Brushing my teeth makes me gag so that's interesting. I could make the effort to get like cinammon toothpaste, but to me, that's like green ketchup, something's just not right about it.

I wouldn't say I have any cravings, but if I think something sounds good for dinner, then that's what we're having...no questions asked. And if it doesn't sound amazing, Im pretty sure I dont wanna see it at all.

Thanks for reading!
Kimberly

MAJOR Update!

I can't hold it in anymore! Eric and I are so excited to report that we are having a baby! After over a year and a half of waiting, and some very difficult times through all of this, our miracle is on the way! We obviously have kept this to ourselves for quite some time, and now that I am almost out of the first trimester, we feel comfortable celebrating with our friends and family.

We have been to the dr several times, and he is monitoring me very closely for any changes. But so far, he says there is no cause for concern. The real miracle behind all of this is that there were no fertility drugs involved. It's not that I am against them at all, but the fact that it could happen without the drugs means that my body might actually cooperate with me for once. Im definitely having all the early pregnancy symptoms, but there was a time that I have begged for symptoms to be present, and I won't take it back now! Amy says "it's just your baby saying HELLO!" in hopes that it makes me feel better! LOL

Our due date is November 14th, and that seems to be a popular month for babies! I can't believe we'll have a baby to celebrate the holidays with this year!

Im playing catch up a little bit with some ultrasound and belly pics below. :)

6 1/2 week ultrasound - pretty much nothing but the yolk sac and fetal pole
7 1/2 week ultrasound - no clue what we've got going on here, but if the Dr says we're good, I believe him!

6 weeks

8 weeks
10 weeks 4/18/10

10 week ultrasound 4/19/10 - This was by far the most amazing ultrasound b/c it actually LOOKS like a baby! Not to mention we have a dancing baby on our hands! It was so cool to see him/her moving arms and legs all around!!

12 weeks - gettin a lil chunky! ;)

The awesome present from Mitch and Liz! It will look so cute on a boy or girl! Thanks!

I still pray every night for a healthy happy and growing baby. It's in God's hands now, and we're pretty comfortable with that! :) Keep growing little Baby Fischy!
