Baby Class.....NO MORE!

In the spirit of preparing for our first child, Eric and I signed up for a childbirth class at Baptist, where we are delivering. The first class was last night, and Eric and I both decided that we would be positive about the class, and see how informative it was. The good news...there are only 3 classes! The bad news....it's from 7-9:30 PM! Don't these people know that I like to be asleep by 9? I know, Im a loser!

Our teacher was very informative, and gave LOTS of detail. Poor Eric, he can't stand all the medical stuff, the pictures, the descriptive reenactments of what happens! And then once the video of natural childbirth came on, I really lost him! I have to say that it's a little more detail than even I wanna know. Im sure that several of you think that seeing a baby born is the "most amazing thing ever!" While I also believe that a baby is a miracle from God, I have no desire to see all the happenings and all the "business!" Eric and I will be hanging out at the top of the bed waiting for the smoke to clear!

But there were several great things about the class too! We got to tour the hospital, learned all about the rooms and where and when everything happens. We learned to PRE-ADMIT (best idea ever) to the hospital, so we don't have to do paperwork when we get there! But after the tour, I started to get really tired, then I started to get HOT and grumpy. THEN, my fingers and toes started to swell from being hot and walking all around the hospital! At this point, I was miserable, and ready to go home. When we finally left, we made the decision that, while the class was informative, it's too late for me in the evening, and we don't want anymore detail than we already got! One class was perfect, and we are now as ready and informed as we are going to be for little Baby Gavin's arrival!

Wish us luck, only 6 more weeks to go!
