Last week, we got to spend the entire week with the Fischer family in Navarre, FL. We love going to Florida, but we've never had a child to travel with until now! Eric and I were so worried about how Gavin would do on the plane rides and then all of the long car rides once we got to Florida, but he did so great.
Saturday morning, we got to the airport around 8:30, and had an hour or so til our plane took off. We let Gavin crawl around to wear himself out (despite my germa-phobe-ness). When we boarded the flight, the flight attendants were so nice and gave him a set of wings to commemorate his first flight! They even let him sit in the pilots seat when we were leaving. He slept through most of the first flight, and slept through the entire second flight. We were so happy and pleasantly surprised!
Once we got to Nana and Papa's house, we immediately stuck him in the pool with Uncle Ray and Aunt Jess so he could cool off and start his vacay. This bib says it all...
The next day we headed to "Another Broken Egg", which is our favorite restaurant in Destin. They have amazing breakfast. After breakfast, we went to the outlet mall to walk around for the afternoon.
Monday morning, bright and early, we got up to go fishing! I was worried about being nauseous or motion sick on the boat, but it ended up being okay. We caught bait, which was my favorite part! I just like to catch fish, I dont care if they are tiny or huge. :)
One of the best things about fishing in the ocean is that you have NO IDEA what is on the other end of your pole! It could be anything from a snapper, a shark, or even a BLOWFISH! J/k, I only hoped I could catch a blowfish, lol.
Jess fought a Mingo all the way to the boat, then just as she was about to pull it in, a huge barracuda came up and stole her whole fish! See the barracuda below
And whats left of her fish...
Our first day of fishing was very successful, we caught lots of mingos and some amberjacks, and a snapper or two. We couldn't keep the snapper though, bc they're not in season or something like that. Oh and we caught a huge Tuna that we also couldn't keep bc we didn't have a tag for it....boo! The next day we headed to the beach for the day, and played in the waves and sand.
That evening, we headed to dinner at the Grand Marlin restaurant. I love this family pic of all of us. It only took about 10 before we got one where Gavin would look at the camera.
Fishing day 2!!! Jess and I signed ourselves up for a second day of fishing, and we weren't disappointed. Everyone caught fish, including our captain (who was usually so busy baiting my hook bc im a wimp!) I got to fight with a snapper that was pretty massive, and Eric caught an almost 4 ft long amberjack that gave him quite a fight!

Beach Day 2!! We went to the beach for one last day on Friday before we left. We had a great time, and love letting Gavin play with his sand toys
The next Saturday morning, we headed home. Gavin was, once again, a great baby for both flights. Slept through most of the first flight, and then played the entire second flight. We were ready for a meltdown at any moment, but we just fed him lots of puffs for the last 10 minutes instead! He was such a great baby.

We don't get to see Ray and Jess near enough, which really sucks. But we definitely make the most of our time together. It was such a great trip to get our whole family together, and we had some pretty awesome hosts! Thanks Nana and Papa for all you did for us and Gavin. He was definitely way too spoiled! :)
