Today is a Gift, That's Why it's the Present: Introducing Crew Warren Fischer

BUT....before I introduce him. I should probably talk a little about how he got here. Actually, not HOW he got here, bc we don't need to go there! :)

We finally made it to Wednesday morning, the 22nd of February, the day of Crew's birthday! Eric and I barely slept the night before bc we were so excited to meet him. We had to be at the hospital at 4 for our 6am C-section. We decided that since we probably wouldn't have been able to sleep anyway, it was better that it was so early! We checked in, started IVs (fluid for me, coffee IVs for Eric and Mom), and hung out in our room for about an hour. But we were not alone! Come to find out, our amazing friends Jared and Tina showed up bright and early for our big day!

Once we into the OR, Mom and Eric had to stay out while they put my spinal block in, and got everything ready. Then they brought them in and got started at exactly 6AM. Eric stayed right by my head and talked to me the entire time. He kept thinking of things to say to keep me from asking what's taking so long. Looking back, it was probably one of the sweetest things bc I know his mind was wondering the same thing, although he talked about everything besides that. :)

At exactly 6:14 AM, Crew was born! Weighing 8lbs 1oz and 22 in long.

Crew cried for about 15 seconds, and then as soon as he was laid on the table to get cleaned up and vitals taken, he just STOPPED crying. He laid there so content to listen to his Daddy's voice. Now, ME, on the other hand, kinda freaked out bc he wasn't crying. I kept asking if he was okay. But everything was perfect!

After a few minutes, the nurses took Crew, Eric and Mom from the room to let them finish working on me. They all went back to our room and waited about 45 minutes for me to get there.

"Hey Dad!"

As soon as we were all back together, I got a few minutes with Crew, then we brought in Gavin to meet his brother! Since everyone was so excited, Gavin was too! He had no idea what was going on, nor did he like seeing his mommy in the hospital bed. But we made the best of it and let him meet his brother.
