GoodBye to Our Home

Goodbye house...I never thought I would miss you. But thinking back to all the memories that have taken place here, I can't help but be a little sad. We picked out this lot, this house, and everything all the way down to the paint color of the front door. We wrote our names in the concrete on the side of the house when it was just Eric and I. And I'll never forget the day we moved in because it was also the day of one of my best friend's weddings in late September.

We always loved to host, no matter the occasion. We're undefeated in OU/TX watch parties at our house, and we won the 2009 Yankees world series over here too! Every year, we hosted a Christmas party with all our friends, and had WAY too much fun! Every spring we planted and killed more flowers than I would like to admit. And one snowy winter, we sledded down our hill in the backyard with Jared and Tina. We've thrown the Frisbee for Lexi more times than I can count.

We found out we were pregnant 3 different times in this house. 2 boys and 1 guardian angel later, I feel like our lives really STARTED in this house. When we brought Gavin home,  we spent the first few nights sleeping in the living room right next to him because we were too scared something would happen! He took his first steps, learned his first words, and had his first birthday party here. Before we could blink, we were bringing Crew home to meet his brother, after turning our office into our 2nd nursery. We had 2, yes 2 cribs for our 2 babies bc they are only 15 months apart. The majority of our time was spent on our living room floor, playing, wrestling, tickling, and reading books. I can also remember pacing this house with a fussy baby, a sick baby, or a baby that just needed cuddling. So many sleepless nights here that I wouldn't trade for the world. So many movie nights and "dungeon days" when we wanted to be lazy. So many projects when we didn't.

Although we built this house, I believe this house BUILT US. There wasn't a single picture or curtain hung in this house that didn't cause Eric and I to want to kill each other! And not even 5 minutes later we would be laughing about it. We've spent 5 of our 6 married years here, and learned so much about being a married couple, a team, and how to be parents together. (Although I don't think anyone really knows what their doing with parenting!) I wouldn't trade a moment of our lives in this house.  I'll look back forever and appreciate this house and all the memories...now onto the next chapter.
