Daddy & Gavvy Time

Throughout this past week, we have been doing something "Christmassy" with the boys each night. Last night was Eric and Gavin's turn to make a rice krispie treat train together. We could've made a gingerbread house, but who doesn't love a good rice krispie treat! They had a great time making an decorating the train, and then we all ate a little bit of it! I love watching Eric spend time like this with Gavin. :)

Crew Baby 9 Months

My little love bug....you and I are like 2 peas in a pod. We spend our entire days together and love every second of it. You are 3 months away from your 1 year birthday, and that blows my mind. I don't feel like you should be old enough to have a real birthday yet. But you definitely think you are older than you are. I would buy you toys, but the only toys you want to play with are your brothers. You are constantly playing trains with Gavin, but mostly you are demolishing the track and Gavin and I are rebuilding. You also love the remote, my computer, and anyone's phones. People keep asking me what to get you for Christmas, but all I can think of are things like "a really awesome old remote" etc!

We are close to the walking phase, but for now, you are content to cruise around the house on all fours. You pull up on everything, and you love your walking toy. Other than that, you are the smiliest, happiest baby on the block!

At 9 Months, you:

- Sleep 7:30 to 6:30 without waking us up anymore
- Eat 3 solid meals a day, and still take about 16 oz of formula.
- The only juice you've tried is when you steal Gavin's cup and get some of his.
- You wear 12-18 month clothes, and 18 month Carter onesies.
- You have HUGE feet! Size 4 or 5
- Wear size 4 diapers
- Love all food still, and will devour whatever I put in front of you. Im trying not to let you be a picky eater, and making you all kinds of healthy things like steamed apples, baked butternut squash, yogurt, fruit, and all other veggies! :)
- You love to scream still, and can say "Mama" and "Dada" Other than that, you just jabber
- You already love the hot dog song from Mickey, and smile so big when it comes on.

That's it for now, keep on smiling my love. :)

Rest In Peace Grandma Rose

This post is long overdue...I just didn't know what to write. In life, we lose people who we are close to, and it's always hard. And as hard as it is that we no longer have Grandma Rose with us, I can't help but smile everytime I think about her...EVERY TIME! I don't know why, but maybe just because she was soooooooo lovely, and funny, and witty!

Although her last years were full of drs appointments and hard times health-wise, she always had a great smile and was so excited to see us and the boys. In several of her pictures that I have, her eyes are closed. It's not likely that I always caught her at the wrong time. I think she always ended up closing her eyes when she was smiling bc I think she was soaking it up, taking it all in and feeling so blessed at that moment, for her family. Rose was a beautiful beautiful woman, and I want nothing more than to remember her that way. Im so lucky that she got some quality time with each of my boys and could take that with her.

She passed away on November 9th, 2012, with Debbie by her side. We miss you Grandma, and know that our family get-togethers will never be the same without you! Love love love you

Gavin's Birthday Part 2

Sunday after Gavin's birthday, we went to Jump Zone with all his friends and cousins to celebrate with a big party! It was chaos and I feel like no one ever knew where their child was, but we had a lot of fun! Afterwards, we went to Amy and Ryan's house to have cake and let Gavin open up his presents with our family. Gavin had so much fun, and kept saying "Happy Birthday to ME!"

Like Papa like Gavvy

I was in love with his cake!

The Chaos That is my Life!

I know that one day I will look back on these times with my boys and wish I had it back. I know that each day my kids grow another 1/2 inch, (because they really do grow that fast!) I get sad bc they are closer to probably being taller and bigger than me. I already miss being up all night with Gavin, and now Crew. But notice that I was probably griping about not sleeping through the night just a few weeks ago. :) So I thought I should take myself through a day in the life of me with 2 kids so I fully remember the madness!!

I try to wake up early...I really do. I try to get in the shower every day by 6 am. Bc I know full and well that there will be no showering once everyone is gone to work and Im by myself with the boys. In fact, I can't even go to the bathroom or EAT! Baby weight and then some was easy to lose with the 2 full-day workout routines I call my babies! Multi-tasking is my mantra. And more days than not I have to repeat to myself "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming" because I know that we will inevitably make it to nap time, and that will give me just a minute to fold some laundry, wash some cups and bottles and pick up the 1,000 toys strewn through the house. I'd have a glass of wine if it wouldn't knock me on my booty! People keep telling me to give up on a clean house with 2 kids, but I "just keep swimming"...I can't help it! I hate clutter!!

Back to my day. I usually make it in and out of the shower without anyone waking up. But if they do, Daddy is there to the rescue. He'll get one up and help me get someone settled, but he has to get ready for work and leave early too. So it's me with wet hair, mascara under my eyes, and at least one Stage 5 clinger! It's not long before the other one is up and ready to go too. I usually bribe someone to stay long enough to let me dry my hair. Then my getting ready time is complete, whether or not Im actually done.

We'll call what happens next...BREAKFAST. What it really is, is me racing around the kitchen trying to keep 2 kids with some food in front of them. Since I love to multi-task, I also take this time to make G's lunch, pack my diaper bag, and clean up bottles and cups. It pretty much goes like this: Cheerios for Crew, cereal for G, G: "Mommy I want Noget (yogurt)", Crew starts crying bc his cheerios are gone. I speed cut up a banana for C, give G some Noget, put a cup in the sink, G is out of Noget and needs some more. Crew is out of banana and needs his baby cereal...you get the idea. We survive breakfast and proceed to getting dressed for the day. This consists of me chasing both kids around the house, and hopefully not putting the wrong socks or pants on one or the other. I also have to negotiate with Gavin so that we don't have to wear Thomas every day. Sometimes we get away with just some Thomas socks! That's a win for me! I dress Crew, only to pick him up as he spits up on both of us...cue new outfit. :)

It's now 8:45, and I try to keep my sanity for the next 30 minutes until we're out the door! I drop off Gav at school, and suddenly the days of 1 child and how easy it was for me (that I took forgranted) come back to me! Crew and I run errands, clean house, go shopping, eat lunch with friends, and pretty much anything we want! At 2:30 (3 days a week) we pick up G and continue the chaos.

I really do love my "job!" And the hugs, the kisses, the snuggles, the sweet smiles, all make up for any stress I may have. But I never wanna forget the "Chaos that is my life" right now. It's too crazy and awesome!

Our First Dallas Cowboys Game

Eric is a die-hard Cowboys fan, and has always wanted to go to a Cowboys game. We've been to the stadium for an OU game before, but not for Jerry's team! Eric was so excited, and I have to admit I was pretty pumped too! We headed to Texas first thing Sunday morning and spent the day tailgating and having a good time! To top it off, our seats were awesome, and we won in Overtime!!!! WooHoo!

Gav 2 Year / Crew 9 Month Dr

Both the boys had their well check-ups this week. First up was Crew, who slept for the beginning of his appointment. When he finally woke up, he was such a happy and smiley boy for the dr. He kept wanting to give himself kisses in the mirror, it was so funny! His Dr said he is growing great, and is perfectly healthy!

Gavin's appointment was on Friday morning, and Nana watched Crew so I just had to take one kid. Gavin played and played all through the waiting room, made friends, and cheered everytime the train crossed the waiting room. Dr Stacy also said he is doing great, and growing like crazy!
