I'm A Slow Reader

I think it's important to point out that I have a major disability...well at least in my eyes. By no means do I think I am perfect, Im far from it. But I pride myself on being a fast learner, a fast typer, a fast thinker...etc. I think Im pretty FAST! Well people, I need to make it known that I am a seriously slow reader. Don't ask me how or why this has happened to me, but it has. Even if I am completely wrapped up in a book, I can't read it anywhere near as fast as my sisters, my Mom, Lyndsie, or any of my friends! And I have to say that it drives me NUTS! Anyone who knows me well, knows that one thing I love so much is to read...and collecting books. If you know my wants for our next house, you know that I would LOVE a library with all the integrity of a REAL LIBRARY. I want dark wood, comfy chairs, and built-in shelves with row upon row of books. And don't make fun...but I even want the sliding ladder along the wall! For everyone who is concerned....Eric is very aware of these wants and needs and although he makes fun of me, he's also very supportive of my love for books!

Back to my flaw....Im sure you can see why me being a slow reader affects me greatly, since I so badly want a library with tons of books in it! What kind of owner of a library will I be if I haven't read the books in it? I won't be a good librarian with my glasses on a gold chain, stamping my books for my friends to check out if they desire. But I also need to clear up one thing...I have serious OCD about my books. I don't want the spines all messed up, and pages bent, or coffee spilled on them. Sadly, I don't appreciate the 'wear and tear' that several readers inflict upon my books! So I don't even know how the whole "checking out books" would go!

But I do love to recommend books! So I think I'll take the opportunity from time to time, to recommend books on my blog. I just finished a book called "The Art of Racing in the Rain" and if you are a dog lover, you might really like this book!

I don't wanna ruin anything about the book, but I will give a short synopsis...This book is about a dog named "Enzo", who actually tells the entire story. He's jealous of humans, and can't wait to become a human in his next life. So he's very interested in everything that happens in his master's life, and tells it from his point of view. There's a lot that happens throughout the book, and it's such a great story. I've already loaned my copy out to Lyndsie, (who knows the rules of book borrowing from Kim), and we'll see what she thinks! I definitely recommend this book.

  2. Yeah I get really scared when you loan me books. I almost don't want to read them so I don't mess them up.
