Adventures in the Tupperware Cabinet

I love to organize...and I mean LOVE! I love that when I open a cabinet, everything is perfectly in it's place and clean and germ-free. Especially in the kitchen. I want to go to the exact drawer where I keep my utensils, or bowls, or cutting boards, and they will all be there in perfect order.

And then I had two little boys, and I believe their mission in life is to push me to my limits of sanity with how much they love to wreck my kitchen! They grab lids to snack cups and cram them into another cabinet. They steal my cooking utensils to play with upstairs and I never see them again. Let me just tell you...I wanted to make a cake the other day and I searched for 20 minutes for the attachments to my hand mixer and only ended up with one of the beaters. FAIL

And then there is the tupperware cabinet. It's the biggest cabinet we've ever had, and apparently seats both boys comfortably. They love to throw all the bowls out, to put them on their head, fill them with trains, and then move on to the next one. As much as it drives me absolutely crazy that I can't even ATTEMPT to reclaim this cabinet, their little giggles that come from inside this cabinet, remind me that they won't always want to play in there. One day, I'll be searching for a bowl, or a beater and it will be right where I left it. And how boring is that? If my two little munchkins want to wreck my kitchen every day while I cook their meals, then so be it! I'll disinfect each utensil as I use it for as long as they want to play.

Now Im off to buy a new hand mixer...and hide the beaters!

  1. I love this. Funny how we aim for one way and our kids try to steer us in a new direction! Cute post...cute boys!
